She Released Them

A weird little fear
Like you’re getting close to something you know you’ll have to let go
A weird little fear
Wanting to race forward yet moving calculated and slow

Fears?
He asks
As I turn the question to him

Hmm…
Long pause
Silence drawing me in

I apparently feel
Like I have more fears than usual these days

He pondered some more
While she admired his ways

I’m afraid of hurting people I care about
He finally spoke aloud
You’re not a risk to shattering that glass
No bull in a China shop to plow

Hero, victim, villain
We choose which
Always one or the other
Swapping between in a stitch

Let’s promise one another
No playing victim
We are the hero’s of our path
Not a pawn in any system

Role playing villain
In the bedroom, sure
Let your evil out
Teach me a lesson, sir

Not a hero to others
We cant love away what others need to do
Their karmic predicament
Requires them to be born anew

That weird little fear
It has power over you no more
Thanks for letting me love you,
Mi amore.

These poems serve two purposes… 1) The clarity they provide me. And the greatest reason I feel compelled to share.. 2) For you to experience the “we.”
