A Poem to My Sleeping Partner
Sleeping next to me
Not moving an inch
Asked for a pillow
The blankets are cinched
There’s no goodnight
No awareness of a farewell to this day
The snoring maddening each breath
Why am I this way?
Wanting to shake em
ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH
Wake up and kiss me goodnight
Then roll over and breath less rough
Shh shh shh
Like you do to Babygirl
Your next stop is subconscious space
Shh shh shh
Like you do to Babygirl
After that tomorrow will reveal its face
Happy for you
Breathing and sleeping deep
Now it’s my turn to slumber
Sleep sleep sleep
*interlude of the loudest snore yet*
Luh you, dream effortlessly.
